Hayward Corps History

The Salvation Army - Hayward was established in 1925 and has a long history of successfully serving those in need. True to its philosophy and priority, The Salvation Army continues to show the love of God and practical concern for the needs of humanity.

The Action

The Salvation Army is dedicated to caring for the poor, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, loving the unlovable and befriending the friendless. The Salvation Army is one of the area's major service providers, reaching out annually to thousands of underprivileged children, senior citizens, families, homeless persons and others in need of its broad based programs.  In Hayward there are people who seldom get enough to eat, families with no place to sleep, and children who get off the school buses every day and find their homes empty and silent. We address those needs here in Hayward.
